Site Colophon
In the past, I’ve always made it a point to develop my site using valid XHTML 1.0 Transitional and CSS 2.1. With this redesign, however, things are a little different. While my site will successfully check as Valid XHTML 1.0 Transitional, I dabbled in CSS3 which is not supported by Internet Explorer. I strongly recommend you switch to another browser that can correctly render my website:
-
Like Firefox by Mozilla
-
…or Google Chrome
-
…or Safari from Apple
Design & Development
I do all of my work on a Mac: I use OmniGraffle for all my IA needs (think Microsoft Visio but made for the Mac OS). I use Illustrator, Fireworks, and Photoshop from Adobe Creative Suite to create the visual elements you see on my website.
I prefer to write code with Coda instead of Dreamweaver (I know how to write and properly format XHTML and CSS). I use jQuery for all the effects you see on my website, a far more user-friendly alternative for those folks using mobile devices which cannot render Flash.
Typography
The site CSS will display all body text in Gentium, then Helvetica or Arial if the Helvetica font is not avaialable on your computer; site headings will display in Titillium—if you are viewing my site on an iPhone you will see all text displayed in Helvetica.
